The course provides an introduction to the theory and application of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. It provides both a stand-alone program for the purposes of mid-career development, as well as an entry point into more advanced studies. Students will learn skills which are applicable to a range of areas such as urban and regional planning, infrastructure management, transportation, the environment, biological sciences, biodiversity management and archaeology.

Structure

Students complete a four topics from selection of option topics. These topics aim to provide knowledge and practical skills in GIS and remote sensing applicable to a wide range of areas.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants who hold a Bachelor of Geospatial Information Systems or closely related area are not eligible to apply for this degree.
