The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) program is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and applied hands-on skills across a broad range of key areas of information technology and in a range of different specialisations. The course prepares graduates to enter the exciting and ever evolving fields of information technology. The BIT features opportunities to study in contemporary and crucial areas of cloud computing, computer networking, cyber security, software development, and the new field of DevOps.

  • Specialisations are available in: Computer Networking, Cyber Security Technologies, Software development, and Cloud & DevOps. Dual specialisation are also possible.

Standard entry requirements

  • To satisfy the general academic requirements for admission to the BIT, applicants must meet at least one (1) of the following entry requirements: •Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent with a minimum ATAR of 65
  • Or•Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent with a minimum ATAR of 50 plus a score of at least 60% in a mathematics/information systems/information technology unit
  • Or•Successful completion of an equivalent secondary qualification either interstate or overseas
  • Or•Satisfactory completion of an accredited cognate Tertiary Preparation Program or a Foundation Year Program offered by an Australian HE provider that would enable students to gain entry to an AQF Level 7 Information Systems course an Australian HE provider
  • Or•Satisfactory complete of a recognised 1-year AQF level 4 qualification
  • Or•Admission to an undergraduate degree at an Australian University.International students must also meet the English language requirements (see Apex Australia Higher Education's website for details).

The course is designed to meet the requirements for professional accreditation by the Australian Computer Society.
