Prepare for a career in an ever-changing and booming industry. The Diploma in Information Technology is an important stepping-stone to achieve your IT career and study goals. Students who undertake a Diploma in Information Technology will be able to gain credit for up to the first year of study and articulate into the second year of many of the bachelor degrees in IT at ACU, or exit with the diploma as a standalone qualification. Not only does our Diploma in Information Technology have lower entry requirements than our bachelor degree, but it will help you to develop skills needed to succeed in more advanced tertiary study. It also provides domestic students with a Commonwealth supported place (CSP-funded) and will help you achieve your goals.

Standard entry requirements

  • Domestic applicants are required to have completed the Australian Year 12 certificate or equivalent. In addition, to be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have also completed:Equivalent of year 12 level with the ACU minimum eligibility rank for Diploma programs
  • OREntry via an alternative pathway as approved by ACU.IELTS 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each band, or equivalent

Study pathways

Students who complete the Diploma in Information Technology may apply for entry into the Bachelor of Information Technology. Credit will be given for units completed in the Diploma program. It may also provide a pathway to a range of double degrees: Bachelor of Commerce (Informatics Major), Bachelor of Information Technology/Bachelor of Business Information
