The Peter and Catherine Williams Refugee Grant provides encouragement and support for talented, financially disadvantaged students from a refugee background as they embark on their studies. Applicants will be students from a refugee background who are studying at UniSA. They can be a UniSA College student, an Undergraduate student or a Masters student in any course. The grant funds are designed to assist recipients with their living and/or education expenses.

Eligibility

Marketing Description The Peter and Catherine Williams Refugee Grant provides encouragement and support for talented, financially disadvantaged students from a refugee background as they embark on their studies. Applicants will be students from a refugee background who are studying at UniSA. They can be a UniSA College student, an Undergraduate student or a Masters student in any course. The grant funds are designed to assist recipients with their living and/or education expenses. Eligibility and selection criteria: - Australian Citizen? an Australian Permanent Resident or the holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa? Temporary Protection Visa? or Bridging Visa. - Refugee background. - Enrolled in a program at UniSA College as a commencing student; OR enrolled in a undergraduate program as a first year or second year student; OR enrolled in the first year of study of any Master degree program. - Full-time study load. - Submission of a written statement. Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing: - Reasons for studying your UniSA program and how the degree supports your future aspirations your background prior to UniSA study. - Academic achievements. - Any financial or educational disadvantage that the applicant wishes to be taken into account - How the Grant will benefit them. The grant will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement? financial disadvantage and information provided in the written statement. Shortlisted applicants may be asked to attend a selection panel interview.

Amount $5,000

Payment will be in two instalments: - $2500 (paid after the census date for Study Period 2) - $2500 (paid after the census date for Study Period 5)
