This program represents an important opportunity to link the academic and practice-based approaches most applicable to the educational needs of clinicians working in a primary care setting. Its primary focus is to enable graduates to achieve a depth and breadth of knowledge in the field of women's health which will allow them to grow professionally, disseminate that knowledge to their peers and colleagues and to provide a higher standard of care to their patients/clients.

Structure

  • 12 unit of credit of 2 core courses: SWCH9011 Reproductive & Perinatal Epidemiology & Biostatistics and SWCH9017 Applied Reproductive Anatomy and Physiology
  • and 36 units of credit of elective courses. Students may undertake up to 12 units of credit in courses from outside the School.

Standard entry requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in medicine, nursing, health or medical science
  • Or Honours, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or higher qualification in medicine, nursing or health or medical science
  • Or commencement of a recognised postgraduate medical specialist training program (e.g. general practice, obstetrics & gynaecology)
  • Or 1 year full-time equivalent of postgraduate professional experience in medicine, nursing, health or medical science.

Study pathways

Credit for courses completed as part of the GradCert can be transferred to the Master in Women's Health program, in accordance with the UNSW policy on credit transfer.
