Lucy Jackson, United Kingdom

UNSW JD (Juris Doctor)

I chose UNSW because it is one of the top universities in the world, and in Sydney - one of the most beautiful and most exciting cities in the world! The UNSW JD offers a great degree of flexibility in study options, and in subject choices. One of the main factors in my decision to study at UNSW was the huge array of electives that the Law School offers, including internships and clinics, overseas intensive study trips, and international, domestic and comparative law subjects. I chose the JD program because it is an internationally recognised law degree, and this qualification will give me the option to choose to work in Australia, at home in the UK, and in other countries around the world. I have really enjoyed the variety of extracurricular opportunities at UNSW. The UNSW Law Society provides a great deal of social and academic support for all students, from BBQs and sports days, to peer mentoring and guest speakers events, and the UNSW Leadership Program is a great opportunity for international students to get involved in the local community. UNSW has a really diverse and vibrant community and there are countless opportunities to get involved - whether your interest is playing soccer, learning a new language, or model United Nations, there are always opportunities to participate and to meet new friends.
