Structure

Students must complete 240 credit points consisting of 24 credit points of core subjects, a 48-credit-point major and potential 48-credit-point second major (subject to application), 24 credit points of cross-disciplinary electives and a 96-credit-point country major choice. Students who do not meet the requirements to study the second major complete 48 credit points of electives. Students spend their fourth year of study at a university overseas.

Standard entry requirements

  • Australian Year 12 qualification, AQF Diploma, or equivalent qualification at the required level. There are no prior language requirements for the international studies program. Entry level to the various language and culture programs depends upon students' prior knowledge of the relevant language. Students are admitted to the international studies program with no guarantee of entry to a specific country major, although every effort is made to meet their preferences. Assumed knowledge: Any 2 units of English and computer literacy. The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
  • Or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21

  • Or PTE: 58-64
  • Or CAE: 176-184.
