Information technology (IT) professionals are faced with new challenges every day. Technical computer science skills are no longer all that’s needed to get the job done.Our Master of Computing and Innovation is designed to build the communication, project management and innovation skills needed to thrive in a growing industry.

Structure

The Masters program includes:eight (27 units) core foundation courses,three (12 units) core electives,one (9 units) research courses ,In this 48-unit program, students undertake a variety of core and elective courses, designed to provide skills in IT, management and innovation, and a significant project designed to combine skills developed across the program.

Standard entry requirements

A completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 4.5.

Recognition

Australian Computer Society (ACS). The program provides the necessary academic requirements for membership of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

Study pathways

After the completion of the equivalent of a major in computer science students may convert to a Master of Computer Science or Master of Software Engineering program. Students unable to complete a Master of Computing and Innovation program may be able to convert to a graduate diploma or graduate certificate program. Students seeking to transfer between degrees are required to seek program advice from the faculty office as not all courses can be counted towards the new program.
