The Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation is designed to meet a growing demand in Western Australia for qualified individuals within the fields of recreation, adventure tourism and eco-tourism by providing essential knowledge, practical skills and leadership opportunities.Practical competence and professional standards are at the core of this program which provides students with extensive practical experience in outdoor leadership in an array of natural environments. Pursuits include white water kayaking, sea kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, bushwalking and mountain biking

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants with recent Secondary Education: Indicative ATAR of 70 with a score of 50+ in ATAR English, ATAR Literature or ATAR English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) OR Minimum International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 24
  • Applicants with Higher Education Study
  • Other university studies completed at undergraduate level or higher, a minimum of 4 successfully completed subjects
  • OR Successful completion of the Notre Dame Tertiary Pathway Program or of another Enabling Program at a level deemed sufficient by the University.

Recognition

This degree provides students with experiences in kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, bushwalking and other outdoor activities as determined by accreditation in the National Outdoor Leadership Registration Scheme (NOLRS).
