Studying abroad at UON for one year

'The people of Newcastle are so warm and friendly and they'll help you with anything. The university has been so good to us - from the minute we arrived, they made sure we had everything we needed. They take us on so many great excursions and bus trips, and help us get to know each other. It really feels like a community. I was surprised how quickly I managed to find work in Newcastle. I work in one of the cafes in Darby St - it's another great way to feel a part of the local community here. And on the international student Facebook page, I managed to find some other girls who were in my situation and we got a place together just near my work, in the city. I really do feel part of this place, and the university has done a great job at making sure that happens for us. If someone was thinking of moving to Newcastle, I would say that they should!'
