Starting with the fundamentals and rolling through to the finer, more complex aspects of cinematography, students acquire a very particular set of skills during their time. Students will be directed by expert teachers in a face-to-face environment, while also collaborating with students from other disciplines. Students will be given access to world-class facilities, using industry-standard equipment like 4K Red and Cannon 300s cameras, including DaVinci Resolve colour grading software, Avid Media Composer, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop. But most importantly, students will see their ideas come to life as they prepare for a big future behind the lens.

Structure

The course is split into 3 phases: Foundational Skills Development Interdisciplinary Projects and Media Cultural Studies Final Project and Work Placement

Standard entry requirements

Applicants for degree courses must satisfy one of the following minimum entry criteria: Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) or equivalent, OR Completion of a diploma level qualification issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), OR Alternative entry for applicants who do not meet the requirements above. Study pathways

SAE recognises industry experience and previous studies from accredited institutions. The amount of credit will vary according to individual circumstances and the course. Applicants are encouraged to submit credit recognition information as part of the enrolment process so that course progression can be mapped accordingly.
