This course will develop advanced knowledge in at least one inforrmation technology discipline. Your design and problem solving skills will allow you to critically analyse problem spaces, assess alternate IT solutions, and evaluate outcomes. Application of your IT knowledge and skills will result in considered and relevant IT solutions. You will graduate with well-developed professional attitudes, behaviours and judgements.
Structure
- To graduate with a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology you are required to complete 96 credit points of course units consisting of: 48 credit points of core units, comprising of eight 6 credit points of IT foundation units
- plus 48 credits points of discipline units from your chosen major selection. Students who are enrolled in this course may be eligible to exit their course with a Graduate Certificate of Information Technology (IN18) after successful completion of an approved 48 credit points of units.

Standard entry requirements
A completed recognised bachelor degree in any discipline.
Study pathways
The QUT Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is located at Level 8 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Graduates will be eligible for entry into IN20 Master of Information Technology with a reduced course duration.
