This program offers a major in Professional accounting or Financial Planning. It provides students with a solid core in accounting or financial planning studies to prepare them for entry into the accounting or financial planning profession. Standard entry requirements
A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher) with a minimum grade point average (GPA) score of 4.0 on QUT's 7 point scale. For students entering Professional Accounting major the undergraduate degree must be in an area other than Accounting. Financial Planning major alternative entry: applicants who do not have a bachelor degree but have at least 7 years' of appropriate professional employment experience may be considered for special entry upon discipline coordinator approval.
Recognition
Graduates meet the academic requirements for membership of CPA Australia, and with additional two units completed outside of the Graduate Diploma in Business, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA); and be recognised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
