This program is designed to provide graduate specialist qualifications by applying specific skills and understanding by independent research or project work in the fields of surveying and mapping. Thesis topics will be chosen from problems of continuing or emerging significance and often will relate to relevant problems of industry and government. Each student's study program will comprise a thesis in surveying and mapping, which will constitute the total study program and may not be completed in less than one calendar year of full-time study.

- 4-year Bachelor of Surveying with Honours
- Or completed graduate diploma properly structured to give a comprehensive study of core areas. Students with equivalent qualifications from other institutions will be admitted at the discretion of the Department's coordinator of postgraduate studies. Students may be required to attend an interview as part of the selection process.
