This course offers the chance to develop skills and knowledge in two or more related fields of study at the intersection of media, business, design and new communications technologies. It offers contextual study of the history, theory, ethics and criticism of the various practices, institutions and discourses in media, communication and information. Foundation skills and knowledge for work in the corporate media and information field is provided with considerable breadth of expertise. Students chose one or two streams out of Corporate Screen Production, Web Media and Journalism, combining them with studies in Visual Communication, Digital Design, Photography, Marketing and Public Relations.

Curtin provides free workshops and online programs to improve students’ study skills. There are also mentoring programs and workshops to develop students’ leadership abilities.

Health and wellbeing services

Curtin Perth has a campus-based physiotherapy clinic and a medical centre where students can see a doctor, occupational therapist, social worker, counsellor, psychologist or physiotherapist. A confidential wellbeing hotline and email is also available to students seeking help for any personal or study-related issue.

Security and personal safety

Curtin is committed to ensuring the campus remains a safe and friendly place for its students, staff and visitors. The university provides 24/7 security patrol, after-hours security escort, campus courtesy bus, emergency telephone stations, SafeZone (a free student safety app), secure-card building access and well-lit pathways.


Curtin Perth has two large bus stations that run regular services to the city centre and surrounding metropolitan area. Public transport travel concessions are available to international students. The university also provides a free bus service for students living near the campus.
