Vibrant and multicultural, Victoria University (VU) offers more than 360 courses to international students at its Melbourne campuses. These include undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and vocational qualifications as well as English language studies.

A respected and high-performing tertiary institution, Victoria University was established in 1990 when a collection of colleges and schools joined forces under one name. With 47,000 enrolled students and 3200 staff, we have more than 11,800 international students from over 90 countries studying our courses.

Research leadership

Our six research centres and three institutes offer innovative solutions and actively respond to the needs of industry and the community.

The university has a growing reputation for industry-centred research and our staff have a proven track record in their areas of research expertise, as well as a broader general knowledge so they can act
successfully as mentors. Workshops and one-to-one academic counselling help new international research students transit to the Australian system, understand academic requirements and course expectations, and to further their research, writing and presentation skills.

Pathways

Victoria University is one of only five multi-sector universities in Australia, allowing pathways from TAFE to higher education. We are committed to recognising the valuable learning that students bring with them
when they decide to study at VU.

Central location

Three out of 11 campuses are located in Melbourne’s Central Business District (CBD)
and another four campuses are within 10km of the CBD. All campuses are easily accessible by public transport.

VU has made a commitment to ensuring that Learning in the Workplace and Community (LiWC) is a universal feature of all courses as part of our development as a distinctive university. Through industry and community engagement, LiWC will be embedded into courses across the university to enhance the student experience and enable students to become work, future and career ready.
