The University of Notre Dame - Study Abroad

Notre Dame is a private, Catholic University committed to ensure students receive a personalised, high quality and affordable education. It offers a caring and friendly learning environment, providing courses which are challenging, relevant and responsive to the student, employer and community needs.
Location

Notre Dame has three campuses with one in the historic port city of Fremantle, another one in the beautiful coastal town of Broome in the North-West of Western Australia and a new campus in Sydney which officially opened in 2006. The first intake of Study Abroad students for the Sydney Campus will commence in 2008. The Sydney Campus Program (2008) is subject to availability.
Each city campus is a “town campus” in the European tradition. Both Fremantle and Sydney campuses are located in historic precincts and feature beautifully restored buildings with leafy courtyard settings. As part of each town’s vibrant community, students enjoy walking distance access to the beach, shops, markets, sporting facilities, a myriad of cosmopolitan cafes and lively nightlife options of theatre and cinema. There are many public transport choices for travelling at weekends to beaches, zoos, parks, sporting venues and riverbank retreats.
In Broome, the campus enjoys a beautiful tropical setting in the magnificent landscape of the Kimberley region - this is a truly different campus from any other in Australia offering a unique experience for students.

Unique Experiences & Field Trips
A special feature of the academic program each semester at Notre Dame Fremantle Campus is the opportunity for Study Abroad students to study several courses which have been designed especially for them, and which provide the opportunity to experience a range of unique Western Australian environments. Field trips add value to the academic program by giving students the opportunity to go beyond the classroom and gain first-hand knowledge and experience. A highlight for all Study Abroad students is a field trip to the Kimberley region of north Western Australia. Students will have the opportunity to meet members of a local Aboriginal community, learn about the culture, and explore the Australian outback.
Student Testimonial
““The opportunity to go to Australia has been like a dream come true. It’s been such a positive experience, the Australian people that I have met have been so incredibly friendly and hospitable. Living in Fremantle has also been a great experience. There is so much to do and see within the city and the surrounding area. Going up into the Kimberley was an experience I will never forget. To be able to live in an Aboriginal community and interact with its members has given me a different outlook on life. I hope that I can come back to this great county one day and experience it all over again.” Michael Murray (USA)
