ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The UNE English Language Centre provides intensive courses in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and General English (GE). Placement in formal degree programs is guaranteed for suitably qualified applicants who complete their EAP English course satisfactorily.

FACILITIES AND STUDENT SERVICES

The University provides airport reception and an orientation program. Support services include English language and study skills programs, welfare and advisory services, counselling, health, student clubs and societies and places of religious worship (including a mosque where students can purchase halal food). There are also a number of Libraries on the campus with volumes in excess of 1,000,000.

The first-class sporting facilities include twelve hectares of playing fields, tennis and squash courts, a heated swimming pool, fully equipped weights gymnasium and other indoor recreation facilities.

The International Office provides many services to international students including an Orientation Program, Airport Reception, Health Cover Assistance, Accommodation Assistance, Language and Academic Support, Community Services, Family Support and Assistance, Visa renewals and work permits, counselling, Friendship Family program and information and assistance for finding part-time employment.
