Department of Education and Training (NSW)

Sydney, the state capital city and gateway to New South Wales, is a great study destination for international students. It’s been voted the world’s number 1 city in 2007 and 2008 for its beautiful landscape, climate, friendly people, affordable accommodation, and quality education and training. It ranks as one of the top three global cities for employment and business opportunities, alongside London and New York (Anholt City Brand Index 2007- 2008).

There are 10 TAFE NSW Institutes across Sydney and New South Wales. Class sizes are small with an average 1:15 teacher - student ratio so you get expert attention from our university and industry qualified staff. Laboratories, commercial kitchens, hairdressing salons, child care centres, health and fitness gymnasiums, and information technology centres on campus provide you with state-of-the-art resources in simulated work environments.

Australian skills shortage

Australia is currently experiencing a shortage of skilled workers in various occupations. The Australian General Skilled Migration Program aims to attract people from abroad to work in these jobs.

TAFE NSW Institutes offer high-level practical skills training in many of these occupations so graduates may be eligible to apply for permanent residency and with your TAFE NSW qualification there’s excellent employment and career opportunities.
