Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT) in association with Macquarie University

Since 1996, SIBT and Macquarie University have worked together to provide the leading pathway program in Australia. Currently over 3,000 students choose to study at SIBT, with 95% of graduates commencing a Bachelor degree at Macquarie University.

SIBT is located on the Macquarie campus and offers a Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies with streams in Commerce, Business Administration, Information Technology and Mass Communication. The Certificate IV leads to Higher Education Diplomas in the areas of Commerce, Business Administration, Computing, Arts and Communication. Successful completion of a two or three semester Diploma guarantees you entry into the second year of a Bachelor degree program at Macquarie.

We recently opened purpose-built facilities with classrooms containing the latest audio and visual teaching equipment and first-class computer laboratories. Being located on Macquarie’s campus, you will have access to the University’s facilities, including one of the best undergraduate libraries in Australia, sporting facilities, student associations and accommodation services.

Supporting you while you study

IBT Education scholarships and family bursary

As SIBT is part of the IBT Education group, you may be eligible for an IBT Education scholarship or family bursary. The IBT Education group offers six full scholarships and 60 partial (50%) scholarships for university level Diploma programs or first year of Bachelor degree programs at Curtin Sydney per year. The group also offers family bursaries to immediate family members who study at our colleges.

Access to University facilities and services

Your classes will be conducted on Macquarie’s campus and you are welcome to join in most aspects of University life, as well as have access to University cafes, library, bookshop and other facilities.

Accommodation

You have a choice of accommodation options including Homestay, on-campus accommodation, student residences and off-campus accommodation.

Orientation

We provide you with an orientation program which provides crucial information and advice to assist you in adjusting to the living and learning environment at SIBT.
