They not only qualify you for university study, but help ensure that you do your best when you get there. Foundation Studies are university programs for students who have not completed the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 in their own country. Unilink is the equivalent of year one of a degree program. On completion at the required level, students are guaranteed entry into year two of the degree.

Campus locations

Swinburne University of Technology students

Swinburne has five campuses in Melbourne and one in Sarawak, Malaysia. In Australia, most students study at our Hawthorn, Prahran and Lilydale campuses. Hawthorn and Prahran are prestigious inner-city suburbs, around 7 km from Melbourne’s CBD. Both campuses offer a shopping district next to the campuses with shops, supermarkets and an array of multicultural cuisine. A large network of public transport covers these campuses which are located within the public transport Zone 1.

The Lilydale campus offers a beautiful natural setting and is located at the tip of the Yarra Valley, Melbourne’s premier wine-making region.

Facilities and services

Swinburne’s facilities are excellent and include wireless technology, well-equipped laboratories, extensive libraries, health centres, comfortable student accommodation, cafés, sporting facilities and many special interest clubs. All campuses have easy access to transport, shops and entertainment venues.

International students studying at Swinburne receive extensive support throughout their studies. Classes are small, and students have easy access to their lecturers and tutors. International students are supported by English language programs, with program coordinators who act as mentors and advisers, and counsellors who ensure that each student’s social and academic welfare needs are met.

Swinburne International runs a recreation program particularly for international students to enable them to see more of Australia, including excursions and daytrips. The university also offers a wide range of sporting facilities, and many outdoor and extracurricular activities.
