The Graduate College of Management (GCM) co-ordinates the University’s postgraduate business programs and provides specialist support to students completing the Master of Business Administration, and the Doctor of Business Administration. Master of Business Administration
Attracting students from countries around the world, the Southern Cross University MBA has a well-supported on-campus program and is also one of Australia’s largest distance-education programs. SCU has established itself as a leader in a highly competitive market and is confident of the program’s quality and continued success.
Our MBA program accommodates diverse student experiences and offers a range of elective units. Each student receives a study guide and textbook to accompany their lectures. A combination of quality teaching, excellent student support and competitive fees represents real value to those contemplating a major investment in their future.
SCU Masters programs are offered on a trimester basis with intakes in January, May and September. Students can complete their degree in one intensive year comprising three trimesters or over a 16-month period of 4 trimesters without incurring additional fees. A combined business administration/accounting package option is available and can be completed over 6 trimesters / 2 years of full time study.

MBA Admission criteria include:

A bachelor degree in any field from a recognised tertiary institution

IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band or TOEFL 550 (with no less than 4.5 in the TWE) or Computer based TOEFL 213 (with no less than 4.5 in the Essay Rating)

Minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience
Doctor of Business Administration
The DBA is an innovative response to the needs of those MBA and other postgraduate degree qualified managers who seek the opportunity to continue their professional development by undertaking doctoral level study.
Since its introduction in 1996 the DBA program has experienced strong growth in the numbers of managers participating and has produced the highest number of DBA graduates of any Australian university. The Southern Cross University DBA is an innovative and valued response to the need for a high-level professional degree for those who aspire to leadership in the business field. The degree is emerging as the pinnacle business qualification globally with graduates assuming positions of authority in both business and government.
The DBA is best described as a program of research-based management development aimed at enhancing managerial capacity to make a significant, original contribution to management practice. It requires the traditional doctoral features of rigor, precision of thought and expression, but has a typical focus on applying those features to address issues of practical relevance to senior managers. The program is business-like in its project-structured approach to developing research methodology expertise and producing the outcomes of a thesis and its related learning experiences.

DBA Admission criteria include academic qualifications, management experience, an appropriate DBA research topic and proficiency in English (IELTS of 7.0).
In terms of academic qualifications, candidates should hold:

a recognised MBA; OR

a recognised Masters degree in any discipline; OR

an Australian Honours degree in any discipline at upper second level or better; OR

a qualification equivalent to an Honours or Masters degree.
The DBA can be completed in 2.5 years / 5 trimesters of on-campus full time study.
