For over 23 years SAE Perth has been committed to offering professional “hands on” training. The college is located in the city centre just off Adelaide Tce in Perth, the sunny capital city of Western Australia.

SAE Perth has recently expanded & built exciting new state of the art facilities which include new audio recording & mixing studios; a dedicated green screen sound stage; a brand new 3d animation and multimedia lab;new film editing suites and more.

SAE Perth offers full time one year Diploma Level courses in March and September each year. They are recognised throughout the world, and are fully government registered for overseas students (CRICOS, VETAB, TAC Approved).

Course streams at SAE Perth

Audio Engineering/ Music Industry: for anyone interested in a career in music;recording studios; live sound and theatre and concert production; sound for film or tv, radio; or working as a musician. Students learn all aspects of the music industry from basic microphone techniques to editing and sound design for radio and film. Along the way the students are involved in a range of hands on projects which are used as part of their assessment portfolio - such as recording a band in our 24 track recording studio.

Digital Film Making: for anyone interested in a career in film or tv production using the latest digital technology - it covers all areas of film making from tv commercials to short features or documentaries; editing and Hollywood style post production fx.

Multimedia: the main focus for this course is in website design ; desktop publishing; computer based digital graphic design ; and cd and dvd rom authoring.

3D Animation: this is ideal for those interested in 3D design and fx design for film (such as in films like “Shrek”, “Toy Story” or “Lord of the Rings”) ; 3D as it applies in tv and advertising; and computer based game design.

The Perth College houses the latest in digital film, multimedia and audio technologies. It is fully equipped with complete 3D, multimedia labs, & digital filmaking & recording studios; featuring two labs of Apple G5s & Pentium P4s running the latest Maya, Macromedia and Adobe software etc; Final Cut Pro and Avid digital film editing workstations , cameras and lights, Apple Macintosh G4s ; a professional 24 track recording studio; 2 x 16 Track Digital Surround Sound Studio; Pro Tools digital hard disk recording and mix down studios; 4 x digital 8 track mix down and recording studios; 4 complete MIDI sequencing and sampling facilities; and analogue and hard disk digital editing work stations and more.

Overseas student entry requirements:

• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 - 6.5 overall, OR

• Testing of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 570 (230 for Computer TOEFL).

• Minimum Age: 18 Years - and at least 12 years of education.
