Study Abroad at RMIT

Design your own program
Students can enrol in any RMIT course, so long as they meet the academic requirements. This flexibility allows students to study, for example, design based programs in tandem with business. However, many students do choose to combine courses that contribute to their major studies at their home institution with some of RMIT University’s general interest electives.

Exchange partners
A variety of internationally placed institutions have developed partnerships with RMIT. Any student can apply for RMIT University’s Study Abroad program (however, students from partner institutions may be eligible for credit transfers).

Scholarships
The Study Abroad Community Service Scholarship is available to Study Abroad applicants with an excellent academic record. Applicants must also meet RMIT University’s English language requirements; and be eligible for an Australian student visa. While enrolled as a full-time RMIT student, scholarship recipients will volunteer up to 35 hours of service to a community service program identified by RMIT University.

Ernesto Hartikainen
‘Friends in Finland recommended RMIT to me, mainly because it is centrally located, and has a great variety of courses to choose from. As I was looking for an institution that offered different courses to what I was studying at home, RMIT was the perfect choice.

‘What I like about studying at RMIT is the small class sizes. I find that my tutorials are very interactive, and I really enjoy this aspect of my studies.

‘Melbourne is a city full of life. The people are very friendly and welcoming, and there is so much to do. I am really enjoying myself.’
