There are no entry requirements to start studying with Open Universities, no limits to class sizes, and no special application procedures for international students.

Language requirements

We recommend international students wishing to study through Open Universities Australia achieve an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall score of at least:

• 6.5 for undergraduate study

• 7.00 for postgraduate study

Our recommended minimum overall TOEFL scores depend on the mode in which the test was taken:

• Paper based test - 580 overall with 5.0 TWE, Listening 53, Writing 51 and Reading 52

• Computer based test: 237 overall with 5.0 Essay Writing and with 19 in all sections

• Internet based test: 92 overall with Speaking 23, Listening 18, Writing 22, Reading 17
