With over 1000 students on campus, Headmasters has all the benefits of a large college, while maintaining a close, personal approach to teaching. Classes are self paced, meaning students can control how much time they spend on each unit of competency.
At Headmasters, we believe that work experience is an integral part of training. As a result, students spend one day per week in our salon, treating real life clients and gaining experience in a true salon environment, while maintaining close contact with the course facilitators. Students are in the salon right throughout their course and start out performing basic salon tasks, progressing to more and more advanced services as they pass through the units of competency.
Students can choose to complete their work experience at one of our two salons – the city salon, located at our
Melbourne campus, or the Clayton salon, situated in one of Melbourne’s South Eastern suburbs.

In fact, prestigious cruise ship company Steiner visit Headmasters every year in hope of recruiting our graduates!

Located in the heart of cosmopolitan Melbourne, you can find the Headmasters campus in the prestigious shopping district of Collins St. We provide state of the art professional training facilities to give students the maximum comfort and friendly atmosphere to complete their training.
Admission Requirements
All prospective students will have to demonstrate proficiency in English. Students from Assessment Level 3 and 4 countries can apply for relevant courses and must complete an IELTS test and achieve Level 5.5 IELTS test. Although it is not compulsory for students from Assessment Level 1 & 2 countries to sit an English Language Proficiency Test to qualify for a student visa, it is a requirement of enrolment at Headmasters that students are able to demonstrate proficiency in English.
Other requirements are that the applicant is over 18 years of age, has a bright personality and friendly disposition and at least normal hand-eye co-ordination.
