Why did you want to study at Charles Darwin University?
Once I completed my Diploma in Architecture in India, Bangalore, I wanted to pursue further education overseas, particularly in Australia. I applied to study a Bachelor of Information Technology at CDU and was accepted.
What were the key things that helped you through your studies?
The great support from lecturers/tutors was the key factor contributing to my success in studies. Friends and family also made a difference.
What were the best aspects/positive experiences of studying with the University?
From an international student’s perspective - the teaching and continuous support from lecturers/tutors was the best aspect for me. Overall I had a positive experience studying at CDU.
How did the services and facilities provided by the University meet your expectations?
As I was studying a Bachelor of Information Technology, the facilities provided exceeded my expectations. The best feature was that I could have 24 hour access to computer labs, which assisted in completing my assignments on time.
What are you doing now work-wise?
I am currently working in Telstra Country Wide as a Communications Engineer, looking after the Northern Territory Government Data Network.
My first job was working for CDU as an Information Technology Support Officer for the Faculty of Science, Information Technology and Engineering (now the Faculty of Technology). This was my first chance to upgrade my skills and apply what I learnt at CDU to the workplace.
Tips/words of wisdom for prospective students:
CDU offered me a practical application to what I learnt and provided career opportunities. My advice for future students is to study hard and complete the course in time.
