Australian Maritime College

The Australian Maritime College (AMC), established in 1978, is unique to Australia. It is the national centre for maritime education, research and training.
Courses
AMC provides a range of qualifications from certificate through to Doctoral and Masters programs. Programs are delivered in full-time, part-time and distance education mode.

Many of AMC's courses are recognized by professional organisations, such as the Institution of Engineers (Australia) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, or industry bodies, such as the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). Close contact with industry ensures the relevance of AMC's programs.
Location
AMC is located in Northern Tasmania and has two main campuses at Newnham in Launceston and at Beauty Point, 50 km north of Launceston, near the mouth of the Tamar River.
International Students
AMC attracts staff and students from nearly 50 countries and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the International Association of Maritime Universities.
Research Facilities
Research at AMC is supported by a suite of unique research facilities including a Cavitation Tunnel, Towing Tank, Model Test Basin, Flume Tank, Integrated Marine Simulator and research vessels.
Accommodation
Catered accommodation is available at both campuses in the form of comfortable, heated single study-bedrooms.

Student Support
A range of services are offered to assist students academically and personally while studying at AMC, including counselling, VISA assistance, cultural transition programs, study skills and accommodation information.
