UTS provides comprehensive support for international students, including housing and careers services, counselling, peer support programs, sport and recreation programs and facilities, multi-faith chaplaincy and prayer room, and English language support. International leadership program www.beyond.uts.edu.au UTS has recently launched the Beyond UTS International Leadership Development (BUiLD) program, an exciting initiative that develops leadership skills and encourages international engagement. The UTS Union runs over 100 social and sport clubs and societies through which students can meet other students and try new activities. The fastest growing club on campus, the Exchange and Study Abroad Club (ESAC), brings international students together with like-minded Australian students to socialise and explore Sydney. Peer Network and Network Café are social programs designed to welcome and support international students. They offer great ways to make connections with local and international students, so you have someone to answer your questions, share tips on local culture, practice new language skills with or just hang out with.

Master of Engineering in Information Technology. Barsha has now commenced a graduate role in telecommunication at Alcatel Lucent.
I did my research and I found out that UTS is one of the best universities for engineering and that's why I chose it. The Engineering course was very good. The courses are really practical. We would normally do lectures and tutorials and do lab activities as well, and then we would have discussions. There would be separate individual projects as well as group projects. It kind of gave you the impression that you were working within a working environment. It gives you the group spirit and the collaboration that you need, which is really important these days - wherever you go, wherever you work - to communicate with people and let ideas flow. I found it really practical. UTS taught me the culture of working in groups and actually speaking out your mind as well. You express your ideas, you can be wrong, but you can still express your ideas, you can clear the confusion and I guess the communication bit as well - to talk to the lecturers, to your peers - basically the flow of ideas, which has really helped me in my work.
