Courses

More than 116 undergraduate degrees, 95 postgraduate degrees and 38 research degrees are offered at the university. Courses offered include arts, architecture, design, urban planning, business, public administration, management, tourism, customs and excise, education, teaching, health, community development, information technology, law, nursing, pharmacy, sport studies and science.

The university's researchers are also dedicated to finding solutions to real-world challenges. Research is conducted in areas such as ecology, biometrics, customs and excise, economic modeling, forensics, governance, urban planning and virology. In addition to research within and between faculties, there are two well-established University Research Centres, which are leaders in their field:

  • National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM)
  • Institute for Applied Ecology.

Academic calendar
In addition to semester 1 and 2 intake, another intake for some courses is available for international students during winter. Depending on course availability, this will enable students to complete the academic requirements of their course at a faster rate and enter the workforce sooner.
