The University of Ballarat has three campuses available for international students situated in the city of Ballarat, which is a 1.5-hour drive or train ride from the Melbourne CBD. The Mt Helen campus is set on 126.4 hectares or 311 acres approximately a ten-minute bus ride from the Ballarat CBD. UB also offers a large Technology Park on campus, which is home to many large companies such as IBM.
International student support
Services offered to all new arriving international students include a free airport pick-up service, welcome orientation, accommodation assistance, social activities and academic and English language support. On-campus services and facilities include a library, counselling services, sporting and social clubs, an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a gymnasium, a bookshop, a hairdressing salon, job placement, a prayer room, a health centre and doctors, computer laboratories and a 3D visual auditorium.
A range of accommodation options are available, including on-campus residences, off-campus university housing and private rental accommodation (houses and apartments). The University Accommodation Services office provides assistance with student housing arrangements.
UB offers TAFE and higher education programs to international students. Study options include:

- science and engineering.
UB offers international students both TAFE (polytechnic) and higher education programs. Students can pursue certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, masters degrees, doctorates and research programs. UB offers a variety of study choices, including English for Academic Preparation (EAP).
Scholarships for international students
The International Student Programs office offers academic excellence scholarships to all commencing international students in TAFE, higher education and research (coursework only) programs located on the three Ballarat campuses. A separate application is required to be eligible, and you must be in receipt of an unconditional offer letter. All applicants are assessed on academic merit of previous study.
