The University of Newcastle

Greetings from the University of Newcastle, Australia! We are a progressive international university and one of Australia's leading research institutions. We have first-class facilities and services, as well as award-winning architecture in spacious grounds.

About Us

We have a student population of over 35,500, including over 7800 international students from 80 countries, spread across campuses in Newcastle, Ourimbah and Port Macquarie, as well as nearly 4000 students studying online across the globe. Adding to our presence in Singapore, we have also established a presence in Sydney. The University of Newcastle in Sydney offers postgraduate business and accounting programs as well as ELICOS. Our fully equipped Language Centre has an excellent reputation throughout Australia for the quality of its ELICOS teaching and has been one of Australia's foremost centres for English language training for over 20 years. The centre is also an official International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test centre.

There are a lot of new things happening in Newcastle. Lonely Planet voted the city in the top ten places to visit in 2011 and the city has revamped itself with new branding and a revitalised outlook for the future. Newcastle features ten beaches, five of which are within walking distance of the city centre, as well as two ocean water baths. The sand and surf is alive with activity at any time of the year - from morning walks, to surfing with dolphins, surf carnivals, beach cricket and more. This makes our city an enviable choice for anyone that loves the coast or just a laid-back lifestyle.
