TAFE Western Australia (TAFE WA) offers two English Language Centres centrally located in the city of Perth. The Central Institute of Technology and Polytechni West offer a variety of different English Language programs to suit the individual needs of international students.
About Us
TAFE WA is a network of government owned and operated TAFE Institutes located across Perth and Western Australia. Students can study English through English Language Centres at the Central Institute of Technology and Polytechnic West. Both institutes offer a range of English courses delivered by highly qualified teachers. Students study in a diverse environment with over 110 nationalities represented. The campuses are centrally located in Perth, one of Australia's most dynamic and prosperous cities.

Courses
General English
Elementary, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced level general English. Each course is designed to help develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills using interesting and challenging texts and activities. This course helps students to improve their English language skills for everyday use, work or travel. It also offers a stepping stone to higher academic study and pathways to TAFE or university studies.
IELTS preparation
These courses are designed for students preparing to enter certificate and diploma courses or university study. The IELTS preparation courses consist of three levels - intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced - to cater for students with different needs and abilities.
Cambridge courses
Cambridge ESOL is one of the world's largest educational assessment agencies. Successful completion of the FCE (CEF C2) is an English level accepted by most training organisations in Australia.
International business English
This course aims to improve language ability by practicing English in a range of business contexts. Class activities are designed to improve the students' practical business and academic skills using a range of real business materials and working through authentic business tasks.
Academic English programs
These courses will help develop the basic skills necessary for successful study in certificate and diploma courses.
English for special purposes
Specialised English programs designed to develop English skills for specific industries.
Certificates in English
Certificate IV in English for academic purposes, certificates in spoken and written English and certificate IV in English as a second language.
