About Us
TAFE SA is owned and operated by the Government of South Australia, so your investment is secure and the quality of your education is guaranteed. TAFE SA currently delivers more than 1500 VET courses to over 80,000 students using 4500 full time and part time staff in 48 campuses across the state. Course offerings range from certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degree and bachelor degree level qualifications across a comprehensive range of educational programs and disciplines. Our small classes provide big benefits, with an average of 15 to 25 students per class. This means that the lecturer is able to give each student more personal attention, assistance and encouragement, making your study experience more rewarding.

Pathways to university
TAFE SA has established direct pathways to university where credit can be granted for relevant TAFE studies, reducing the time it takes to get a university degree. The exact amount of credit granted towards a degree depends on the university, the degree course and the TAFE qualification completed.
English courses
The right place to learn English is essential in today's business world and TAFE SA's English courses are among Australia's best. TAFE SA offers you the opportunity to improve your spoken and written language before you start studying your formal qualification.
Commencement dates
For most courses offered in TAFE SA your academic year commences in January and July (for most award courses) and February, April, July and October for ELICOS programs.
Entry requirements
For admission to most of TAFE SA's award courses, an IELTS score of 5.5 with no band under 5.0, or equivalent TOEFL is required. Some award courses require an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band under 5.5, or equivalent TOEFL. However students can satisfy this by completing an ELICOS course prior to starting their formal TAFE qualification.
