Swinburne has campuses in the inner and outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and one in Sarawak, Malaysia. Swinburne's main campus in Hawthorn is just 8km from the centre of the city, just 10 minutes by direct train. It is set among the cafes, boutiques and bookshops of a vibrant business, retail and residential area, with the convenience of supermarkets and the train station.
A truly international institution, Swinburne has developed partner relationships with more than 90 universities around the world, and has been teaching at its Sarawak campus in Malaysia for more than 10 years. "The communication design course is fantastic. The lecturers are insightful and allow you to explore your creativity while also guiding you accordingly. I chose Swinburne primarily because of recommendations from several acquaintances. It has been wonderful studying at Swinburne's Prahran campus. The library and cafe on campus make it a good place to study and hang out with your classmates when you're working on assignments together. The staff and students are very welcoming and enthusiastic about international students, and there is a good support network. I haven't found it too difficult to adapt to life in Australia, make new friends and explore the sights. You just have to take the initiative to get to know this strange and breathtaking new environment you're in. Make sure you participate in clubs you're interested in and immerse yourself in Australian culture. It's eye-opening, and you'll walk away a wiser, happier and well-rounded student for it."
