At St Philip's Christian College we believe that the true purpose of education is to focus on the whole student and draw out their God-given potential. St Philip's Christian College was founded in 1982. From humble beginnings of 2 teachers and 25 students, we now cover five campuses in Newcastle, Port Stephens, Cessnock and Gosford with over 2300 students and 350 staff.
About Us
At St Philip's Christian College we have a long history - over 25 years of strong academic results and of equipping our students to face all of life's challenges. We believe that education should focus on the whole person and be professionally delivered. Students will be challenged through our academic, sporting and cultural programs in a supportive environment. We have a dedicated support team who provide for the pastoral care and welfare needs of international students. We have three colleges participating in our international student program: Newcastle, Gosford and Port Stephens.
- Newcastle is the central office and central registrar of the international student program. Newcastle is the argest regional city in New South Wales and possesses a unique combination of city, coast and country.
- Gosford offers experience in international education and close proximity to Sydney.
- Port Stephens is situated in one of the most picturesque tourism regions of Australia.
All three colleges are set in locations that are close to clean seaside environments; offer a high quality educational experience in a caring non-denominational Christian environment; and have a strong focus on developing students academically, physically, socially and spiritually.
A comprehensive sporting, performing arts and cultural program helps develop leadership and personal skills that will help students throughout the whole of their lives. In the past many of our international students have gained academic excellence in our university entrance exams and have gone on to study very successfully in Australian universities.

Our ESL Support Program aims to support students to become competent and proficient in English and to effectively participate in all aspects of school life.
St Philip's Christian College provides Homestay for all of our International Students. Accommodation is screened to ensure proper standards are kept and the environment is conducive to students being able to achieve their goals. Homestay includes all meals and access to all facilities in that home and some participation in duties around the house. Homestay students will have a room of their own with a desk for study purposes.
The Senior School has excellent buildings and facilities designed to meet the needs of students engaged in academic and vocational pathways to the HSC.
These facilities include a range of general-purpose classrooms, specialised rooms, science laboratories and computer labs.
Courses
Our schools are accredited by the Board of Studies to offer junior and secondary courses providing the School Certificate and the HSC. The opportunitiesm for success at St Philip's Christian College are outstanding - students are encouraged to achieve excellence and strive to fulfil their potential. Students have the distinct advantage of individual attention in relatively small classes, with ready access to excellent equipment, resources and computing networks.
We offer a broad range of HSC subjects and courses. Our students generally seek tertiary entrance. An outstanding Vocational Education and Training (VET) program is also available. Students have succeeded in all areas across the curriculum and we are thrilled with their achievement. Students have been mentioned on the All Round Achievers List, the Distinguished Achievers List and the Merit List for mathematics and English.
