Certificate I in English Communication Skills
This course provides a broad academic language foundation and introduces students to a range of academic texts, building on the skills of the Certificate I course. Students can choose one or more of the following majors into their study:

General English
English course for students of all levels of English proficiency with a focus on teaching the communicative skills of speaking and listening as well as reading, writing and grammar.

English for Business Purposes
The course gives students practice in reading and writing business correspondence, and enables them to communicate verbally (telephone skills, presentations, talks and business meetings).

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
This course is designed for students who want to take a course at university, college or other educational institutes. The main course objectives are:

• to extend skills and strategies in speaking and understanding (listening to) English in academic contexts, preparation and presentation of seminars, understanding lectures and note taking, and effective participation in group discussion and tutorials.
• academic writing: assignments (paraphrasing, referencing), summaries, essays, reports and examination answers.

IELTS / TOEFL Preparation Course
Exams preparation courses to gain entrance into vocational or university programs. There is a strong focus on building vocabulary and refining test-taking skills and strategies, which includes familiarisation with exam formats.

Certificate IV in TESOL
Certificate IV in TESOL is a practical course consisting of lectures, workshops and hands-on teaching. This program combines face-to-face delivery, self-study and group work. Participants will observe experienced ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teachers and participate in teaching practice with ESOL learners at various levels. TESOL certificate IV is offered as a full-time, intensive or correspondence course.

Graduates of the course will be able to access higher level teaching positions. The diploma of TESOL is offered as a full-time, intensive or correspondence course.

IELTS Teacher Training Course

The IELTS teaching course is designed to equip teachers with the necessary skills to teach IELTS preparation language courses around the world. Sea English Academy conducts a two-day course to train and equip teachers to teach IELTS preparation courses. The course is fully accredited and is one module of the diploma of TESOL (30777QLD) course offered by Sea English Academy Sydney. This is a great opportunity for professional development. Graduates will be given a Statement of Attainment for the Module DTE50105 'Develop Effective Teaching Strategies for Advanced Students for IELTS Preparation'. The course will include topics such as an introduction to IELTS, IELTS testing systems, classroom strategies, planning and conducting IELTS preparation language classes, teaching activities and much more.
