Unbeatable Australian lifestyle and welcoming campus communities
The La Trobe University Study Abroad program will immerse you into campus life and Australian culture, offering diverse and vibrant campus environments and communities. We offer courses to international students at six of our seven campuses. All of our campuses are set in beautiful native bushland, and all of our regional campuses have easy access to Melbourne, Australia's second largest city. You can get involved and make friends by participating in organised student trips, clubs and societies, sports and adventure clubs. We also provide for a range of leadership opportunities through the Ambassador Program, volunteering and the Infinity Leadership Program.
The outdoors. The Australian way of life.
More than 80% of Australians live within 50km of the coast so it comes as no surprise that the beach has become an integral part of the Australian way of life. From an early morning surf to the red caps of lifesavers, Australians flock to the beach on hot days jostling for a spot to call their own. La Trobe offers many trips for students to experience the great outdoors including surfing adventures, snow skiing, mountaineering, rowing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water skiing and wakeboarding.
Student Services
La Trobe's extensive services for international students include: personal and academic support services, assistance with English for academic purposes, detailed pre-departure information, a free airport pick-up service, assistance with visa, health insurance and accommodation arrangements, and a comprehensive Welcome Festival Orientation program.
Courses
The University offers over 300 subjects that you can select and credit towards your home degree. Undergraduate and postgraduate subjects are available in the following study areas: business, law and management, education, health sciences, humanities and social sciences, media and communications, science, technology and engineering.
Edge of the Outback short course
The three-week Edge of the Outback short course offers you a unique photographic journey through the Australian outback landscapes using the medium of traditional and digital photography. Workshops and a five-day field trip provide you with a chance to explore ancient landscapes with a local Aboriginal guide. The course concludes with an exhibition.
