About Us
La Trobe University offers specialist training for students who want to be professionals in business. La Trobe focuses on developing skills and knowledge in specific professional and discipline areas. In addition to accredited accounting masters programs, La Trobe has introduced a master of accounting (research studies), which provides an articulated pathway and enables high-achieving postgraduate coursework students to complete appropriate research training. The university also boasts a suite of programs in information systems management accredited by the Australian Computer Society and a master of tourism with an honours semester that prepares students for industry research or entry into a PhD. The Faculty recently introduced a range of new masters degrees in financial analysis, with specialised training in financial planning, investment, financial risk management and Islamic finance.
Our MBA, already voted 'Australia's most loved MBA' (2009 AFR BOSS), is currently being renewed and is set to relaunch in 2012. The new program has been designed specifically to provide experienced professionals with a highly flexible and individualised general management study experience.
