About Us
Gold Coast Institute of TAFE is part of the larger TAFE Queensland network and with five campuses and over AUD$130 million worth of infrastructure, it's one of Australia's leading Vocational Education and Training (VET) facilities and the largest in the Gold Coast region.
As part of Queensland's world class VET system, GCIT is a government funded Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that provides students with all the benefits of internationally competitive education and training in a safe, attractive and culturally diverse environment.
GCIT continues to expand its offering of quality programs to international students. A wide variety of industry recognised and practical courses are available from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level, within the following disciplines:

Student Services
International students can also receive specialised support throughout their studies to make their lives even easier. Friendly staff at the International Student Centre are ready to assist with any questions or problems that may arise. This dedicated team is there to ensure that students find the necessary help required to deal with problems such as visa, accommodation and re-settlement issues.
The International Student Centre can also refer students to additional support services if they require counselling, help with literacy, language and numeracy skills, family support, cultural or recreation activities and a range of other services that are outlined below:
GCIT prides itself on producing job ready graduates and has entered into a partnership with e2e (education2employment) to support all students in finding part time work during their studies and further employment upon graduation.
Homestay on the Gold Coast is a popular option, with many families ready to engage with international students. This service is managed through an external agency.
Courses
Taking pride in its ability to meet and exceed customer expectations, GCIT remains at the forefront of innovation in skills development and training, to ensure students graduate with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce or move onto further education.
Many of GCIT's diploma courses offer direct entry to a range of Queensland's top universities.
Articulation pathways are a popular way for students to enter their chosen industry with practical skills, knowledge and English capability before articulating through to further study.
All English language courses are accredited by the National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) to ensure that students receive the highest standard of English language education.
GCIT offers the only IELTS testing centre for the Gold Coast region. English language programs are developed and delivered by highly trained teachers who are experts in the delivery of English as a Second Language (ESL) and English language for international ELICOS programs.
From IELTS preparation to direct entry programs and online access-GCIT has delivery options to suit every need. Recent innovations include the popular English for Nursing program that assists international students to gain entry into the complex health industry.
Students have the chance to develop practical skills through nationally recognised training, with customised courses that are developed in close consultation with industry representatives.
GCIT differentiates itself from other RTOs with a learner-focused approach to training and employs teachers with 'real world' experience, ensuring that graduates are in high demand by employers globally.
