Student Services

For over 55 years, students from around the world have studied at Elly Lukas College and achieved excellence in their careers in the ever expanding beauty, spa and wellness industries. At the end of each diploma course, students sit for independent examinations conducted by the prestigious examining bodies. Founded in Switzerland, CIDESCO (www.cidesco.com) is a non-profit body which conducts examinations around the world. Widely regarded as the most prestigious of beauty and spa therapy qualifications, the CIDESCO diploma is a benchmark standard of excellence in our industry which is universally accepted by leading employers around the world. ITEC (www.itecworld.co.uk) and CIBTAC (www.cibtac.com) are both prestigious awarding bodies based in the United Kingdom. Elly Lukas students are able to sit for all three international examinations at the end of their course and thus able to achieve the ultimate in internationally recognised qualifications.

In addition to classroom learning, the college also conducts study tours to visit the north Queensland luxury spa resorts in order to give our students an insight into the industry, as well as creating potential employment opportunities. A European and North American study tour to spas, resorts and conferences in these regions is also available each year as an optional program.

Upon completion of the diploma course, graduates may apply to continue their studies to the Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) and can receive 1.5 years credit, completing the degree course in an additional 2.5 years of study. In 2009, the college opened its new Melbourne city campus, featuring modern equipment and state-of the-art facilities including specialist day spa, wet tables, aromatherapy and steam areas designed to give students valuable knowledge and experience with up-to-date salon treatments as they become available in the industry.

The college's job placement program actively places students in work placement in leading salons and spas during their training. This enables our students to obtain invaluable hands-on experience whilst they progress through the course.

Candidates may also apply for the partnership program to work with Steiner Transocean (UK) who operate 140 luxury spas on board cruise liners and are the largest employer of beauty, massage and spa therapists in the world.
