Courses

The Faculty offers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses across four study areas, including business; law and justice; sport, tourism and hospitality management; and urban and regional planning.

Studying business at ECU will give you the freedom to experience a variety of subjects, ranging from traditional disciplines such as accounting, economics and human resources, through to more contemporary disciplines such as international business, marketing and management of information technology (MIT). ECU business courses feature a unique set of core units called ECU Business Edge. These units focus on improving the employability of our students, giving them the edge with skills like effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking and initiative and enterprise.

ECU's law and justice courses deliver a practical legal education that opens career doors to and beyond the court room. You can specialise in an extensive range of modern fields, such as family law, mediation, youth awareness, offender management and treatment, the psychology of criminal behaviour and effective forensic investigation. The courses are taught by enthusiastic lecturers with high academic qualifications and years of industry experience.

Event, hospitality, recreation, sport or tourism management courses at ECU have a strong practical focus, with opportunities available to engage with the industry through networking events, field trips, internships and placements. Students can even enjoy realistic work experiences on campus, with such facilities as our hospitality management training restaurant, Degrees Restaurant.

If you've ever looked at a street, a community business district or the layout of a shopping complex and thought that it could have been planned better, consider an ECU urban and regional planning degree. ECU's planning courses have a 'hands-on' orientation and also embrace the development of generic skills such as public speaking, critical thinking and working effectively with others.
