Australian Catholic University (ACU) is open to students and staff of all beliefs, nationalities and cultures. Our strong spiritual foundations foster an environment of free enquiry and academic integrity. We have a community of 20,000 students, with over 3000 of these students coming from 80 different countries.
A truly national university, we provide our students with opportunities for practical experience while they study as well as a high level of social and academic support.
Internships are available in many of our programs to help develop practical work experience and our global exchange program offers the opportunity to study overseas at one of over 100 international partner institutions.
On campus, you'll find there are many ways to get involved in university life. Join ACUmates in North Sydney and Melbourne or McAuley United in Brisbane. These fun social groups are designed to provide opportunities for international students to settle into the social side of university. You can also get involved with our on-campus radio station, ACU Wired, or many of the other clubs and associations across our campuses.
For those who would like to make a difference in the community, as well as build up further skills, there are numerous volunteering opportunities where you can work on projects that make a difference to the local and international community.
Campus locations
Our six campuses are located in the state capital cities of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane; the national capital, Canberra; and the regional centre of Ballarat. Each campus has its own unique environment and offers a range of support and services to ensure that the best ACU experience is offered no matter which location you choose.
Free wi-fi is available across all of our campuses and each campus is served with easy-to-access public transport, making travel to and from university easy and hassle free.
Student Services
ACU has extensive experience in the support of international students and our support begins from the moment you arrive in Australia with our airport pick-up service.
We have a dedicated team of international student advisers who are on hand to assist with your pastoral care and can offer assistance with visas, accommodation and finance questions.
Qualified counsellors are available at each campus to offer free, confidential advice on any issue from study and finance to stress management and relationship difficulties.
Career development services are readily available and careers advisers are available on each campus to assist students with making career decisions, identifying personal career goals, developing employability skills, searching for employment and preparing employment applications.

We also offer excellent degree programs in accounting, business information systems, environmental science, physiotherapy, social science and visual arts and design. Diploma and English Language Pathway programs are available.
