Communications

With the constant advances in communications technology, no-one is far away anymore. Australia offers an extensive communications network, so staying in touch with family and friends back home, and with your new friends in Australia, will be easy.

Phone

There are a variety of mobile phone providers in Australia each offering an extensive range of mobile phones and payment plans. For overseas calls, phone cards offering cheap rates are widely available.

Email

Your education provider will generally have free internet and computer services. Alternatively, internet cafés are common throughout the country, particularly in cities and large towns. Public libraries also offer computer facilities, often at no cost. If you wish to have the internet connected at home, it’s not difficult to organise through one of the many providers.

Mail

And don't forget, there is still the more traditional method of communicating — the post! Australia Post sends letters and packages around the world, generally in less than a week for international post, and overnight for destinations within Australia. So, it will be easy to send and receive letters, presents and packages from home.

Clearly, being away from home does not mean you will be forgotten!
